Saudi shipyard launches Kuwaiti Coast Guard vessels
Saudi Arabia’s Zamil Offshore Services launched the first of four logistics ships it is building for the Kuwaiti Coast Guard on 26 August, according to local media reports.
The 46 m Al-Zour 10 was launched during a ceremony at the Zamil yard in Dammam that was attended by Major General Sheikh Muhammad bin Yusuf al-Sabah, assistant undersecretary for border security at the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry.
The contract had not previously been reported and is a rare example of a Gulf state building naval vessels for another Gulf state.
