Update – Dependent visa rules for expats

The government has made new rules. These rules say that people from other countries who want to live with their families in Kuwait need to do more things.

Starting from Sunday, January 28, the amount of money a person needs to earn to be able to bring their family to Kuwait has increased to 800 Kuwaiti dinars.

This change is meant to make sure that people who want to bring their families have enough money to take care of them.

Also, people from other countries who want to live in Kuwait now need to have a university degree. Their job in Kuwait should match what they studied in university.

The government of Kuwait has been making the rules for visas stricter recently. On January 21, they decided to send away people who are living in Kuwait illegally. Before, they had a plan where these people could stay if they paid fines, but now they changed their minds.

A source from the security department said, “The Interior Ministry is going ahead with its plan to send away people who break the rules about living in Kuwait. This has been happening for some time now.”
