Kuwait announced plans to make six labor cities, reports Annahar daily.
Municipality indicated that a committee consisting of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Works and Kuwait Municipality will be formed to determine the conditions and systems of the project.
The report also revealed the locations of these labor cities.
The first labor city will be in Subbiya on an area of size 246.5 hectares with the capacity of sheltering 40,000 laborers.
The second labor city will be located in north of Mutla on an area of size 246.5 hectares with the capacity of sheltering 40,000 laborers.
The third labor city will be located near South Jahra on an area of size 105.5 hectares with the capacity of accommodating 20,000 laborers.
The fourth labor city will be at the east of Arifjan on an area of size 246.5 hectares to accommodate 40,000 laborers.
The sixth labor city will be located at North Khairan on an area of size 246.5 hectares with the capacity of accommodating 40,000 laborers.
All of these labor cities will have all necessary utilities such as banks, post offices, bakeries, mosques, gas stations, malls, restaurants and cafés.
Moreover, Al-Huqayl said that such meetings aim to ensure that quality housing is provided for all Arab nations, adding that the meeting is also an opportunity to share successful experiences in the housing sector.
He also spoke of a concerted Arab housing strategy which will be instrumental in ensuring sustained development in the Arab region, highlighting the need for increased real estate and housing projects. The issues expected to be discussed during the meeting run the gamut from residential societies and reconstruction to the formation of a database to help bring the council’s goals to fruition, in addition to a myriad of issues germane to the housing sector in the Arab world.
