Stats show reduction in number of expat workers

Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Oct 1, reveal a reduction of the number of expatriate workers in the public sector by 211 compared to their numbers on July 1 of the same year.

At the same time, the number of Kuwaiti employees in the public sector has increased by 1,316. According to the statistics, the number of non-GCC expatriate workers in the public sector reached 81,126, and the total number of Kuwaiti workers in the public sector reached 257,230. The number of non-GCC expatriate workers and Kuwaiti workers in the public sector as of July 1, 2017 was 81,337 and 255,914 respectively.

The statistics revealed that the number of non-GCC expatriate workers registered by CSC on April 1, 2017 was 82,061. This means the services of 935 expatriates working in the public sector have been terminated during the period between April 1 and Oct 1 this year. On the other hand, the number of citizens working in the public sector as on April 1 was 252,580.
