Kuwait deports 16 expats due to driving without license
Kuwait deported 16 expatriates after they were caught driving without licence last week in line with a new law expelling foreigners who drive vehicles on the road without having a licence, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf emirate reported on Monday.
The offenders were caught in separate raids and police patrol tasks on roads and residential areas, the Arabic language daily ‘Al Watan’ said. The raids also resulted in issuing more than 40,000 tickets to traffic violators and the seizure of 2,533 cars whose owners committed serious offences, it said.
Kuwait, where nearly three million foreigners live, has recently enforced a law immediately deporting expatriate motorists caught driving without licence and those who commit serious road offences.
