A Kuwaiti man, who is believed to be in his 50s, and allegedly gifted a car to his girlfriend, every month and who deserves the title of ‘the biggest thief in Kuwait’ has finally been arrested by the plainclothes police of the Mubarak Al-Kabir governorate, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Records show the man is a former convict and the man has admitted to being a drug addict. Police set a trap for him and pursued him in Salwa. The man reportedly tried in vain to escape on foot after colliding with a police patrol but he was chased and arrested.
Police began a manhunt for the man after several people living in the suburbs of Messilah, Sabah Al-Salem, Qurain and South Surrah filed theft reports with the area police stations. The arrest came after police stopped a woman driving an expensive car which was reported stolen by its owner.
When the woman was told she was driving a stolen car, she was taken by surprise and she added, the car was a gift from her boyfriend. She then gave the address of the suspect and the places he visited. He has been fingerprinted, a sample of his blood taken and referred to the Public Prosecution
