Bringing together projects developed during FIKAR’s first two seasons (2023–2024 and 2024–2025), IN SITU unfolds as a multidisciplinary constellation of works in progress and completed projects. The exhibition reflects sustained artistic and research-based engagements with Failaka Island—its civilisational histories and landscapes, its biosphere, as well as its mythical pasts and imagined futures.

In recognition of the deep-rooted fraternal and historical ties between the State of Kuwait and The United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre announced its participation in the launch of the UAE–Kuwait Relations Celebration Week. The initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and their peoples.

A number of Kuwaiti composers were influenced by Arabic music and the melodies of Mohammed Abdel Wahab and Baligh Hamdi, creating songs for Kuwaiti music during its golden era. These songs carry influences from Eastern and Arabic music but with an authentic local spirit and rhythms.
In this concert, “Kuwaiti Eastern Melodies,” hosted at the Drama Theatre on 6 February as part of the 31st Al-Qurain Cultural Festival, we will enjoy many of these melodies performed by Abdulqader Al-Haddhood, Haitham Al-Zaid, Abdulaziz Al-Mesbah, Shaimaa Suleiman, Rawaa Suleiman, Ghazwa Ibrahim, and Abdulrahman Al-Hamad, accompanied by the orchestra under the direction of maestro Dr. Ahmed Al-Oud.
