A lion, two hyenas, five baboons and numerous apes have been surrendered to Kuwait Zoo by residents following a crackdown on wild animals kept as ‘pets’. Authorities began confiscating the wild animals from people’s homes and backyards after a Filipina maid was mauled to death by a lion in her employer’s home in December. The baboons surrendered to us are native to the Arabian Peninsula. They can be kept as pets but need extra care since they are sensitive creatures.

The government also has reinforced a law banning walking dogs in public places. The legislation has existed for many years but had been barely enforced in recent times, the daily said. Dogs are considered haram in Islam.

    Dog is haram because u can not eat meat of that the seliva / water comes out from Dog mouth does not allowed to be kept ur home heigenic and that is the biggest reason why Dog has become haram scientifically and religiously too so better stop walking with Dog is advisable

    Yes why not keep those wild animals at home and be taken care of in the best way possible even they takes the lives of expatriates whose lives are cheaper than of those animals. this is inhuman.

    Yes, why they will consider dogs as Haram. They are the man's best friend. And most Kuwaitis they love pets especially dogs. I just can't understand also why they care for wild animals. Which is an acceptable and dangerous on their lives and community.

    First of all kuwait zoo doesn't even take proper care of the little animals they posses and now they are given more? These animals are sentenced to death by being surrendered to the zoo. Secondly ban dogs from being walked in public places? Where should we walk them on building roof tops? Kuwait will never progress towards civilization with ignorant people running the government and making rules. Shame for such a wealthy country to be so uncivilised

    First of all walking a dog outside is not Haram. The dog itself is not Haram he is nijus (unholy). If dogs are Haram why does the government of Kuwait license stores to sell dogs.
