A total of 41,000 expatriates have been deported from the country during 2015 and the first four months of 2016, reports Al-Anba daily quoting senior security sources.

The same source said most of the deportees are Asians who had been blacklisted and banned from entering the country. The sources also pointed out 26,600 were deported in 2015, while 14,400 were deported during the first four months of 2016.

The sources explained these persons were deported  for violating residence and labor laws and for committing crimes and the Interior ministry came to the conclusion that deportation was the best solution instead of putting them behind bars. The source added, this is the largest number of people deported in a very short time.

The sources indicated the increase in the number of the deported is a result of efforts and coordination between several security services such as the traffic sector, and public security sector, residence affairs investigation department and the Tripartite Committee.

The source affirmed all deportation procedures are completed in less than a month according to the law and that the implementation of the expulsion decision is currently within 10 days.
