The Ministry of Interior has released 50 out of the 67 Syrians who were being held at the deportation center, reports Al- Qabas daily quoting a security source. The source explained their release came in line with Kuwait’s orientation as a country of humanity.
The men were released after examining their humanitarian situation and their inability to return to their homeland due to turbulent conditions and unrest.
However, the sources said the released persons must be sponsored by a Kuwaiti and visit the deportation department once a month, failure to do so will create problems for the sponsor. The remaining 17 shall be released after completion of procedures.
It is also reported their passports will remain in the custody of the Interior Ministry.
