Director of Checking at the Public Authority for Manpower Mohammad Al- Ansari disclosed that 16 workers were arrested off Wafra Motorway and referred to the General Immigration Department for violating labor law, says Al-Seyassah.
He stated a team from the Public Authority for Manpower in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality and the Interior Ministry represented by General Immigration Department and Public Security Sector embarked on an inspection tour and arrested the workers for violating labor law by working illegally for another employer.
Meanwhile, officers from the Residency Affairs Department arrested a Kuwaiti citizen on the allegation of falsifying official documents to issue 53 residencies on a cancelled government contract.
A security source said the citizen knew the contract had been cancelled and still went ahead to carry on the activity. He confessed submitting applications to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for the issuance of 53 residencies. He has since been referred to concerned authorities.
