About 500 Pakistanis have benefited from the amnesty that the Interior Ministry granted to expatriates, who violated the Residency Law, to either rectify their status or leave the country, said Ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait Ghulam Dastgir, reports Al-Rai daily.

Speaking at the annual celebration organized by Kuwaiti-Pakistan Friendship Society marking the National Day, Dastgir affirmed the brotherly and friendly relations between Kuwait and his country; highlighting the constructive cooperation between the two countries in all fields and the strong relationship of their leaders.

He also cited the exchange of high-level visits between the two countries, stressing these visits reflect the depth of these countries’ relationship. He said the latest of these visits was that of the Pakistan Navy commander. He added about 107,000 Pakistanis are residing in Kuwait and most of them are well-trained employees; asserting the number of Pakistanis who violated the Residency Law is very few — around 2,000
