Saudi Arabiaโ€™s Ministry of Interior announced on 6 October 2026 that eligible highly skilled foreign workers can now begin entry visa procedures for certain family members at the same time as their own employment visa is being processed, rather than waiting until theyโ€™re already settled in the Kingdom.

The change was made in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The stated aim is simple: make relocation smoother and improve quality of life for the families involved.

โšก The short version
  • Eligible highly skilled foreign workers can now process family entry visas alongside their own work visa, instead of afterwards.
  • It applies only to heads of households classed as highly skilled โ€“ no official salary threshold or job list has been published.
  • Parents, married daughters and sons aged 25 or over are reportedly not covered by this arrangement.
  • Family members will still need to complete Iqama (residence permit) procedures after they arrive.

Itโ€™s worth being clear, though: approval still isnโ€™t automatic. Applicants need to meet the governmentโ€™s requirements, and running the applications in parallel doesnโ€™t guarantee both get approved at the same time.
