Ban on academic qualification amendment for expat over 50
Aug 19: The Labor Affairs Sector of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has instructed all labor departments in all governorates not to receive transactions related to amendment of academic qualification in the work permit from high school level to university level for expatriate workers who are 50 years and above.

No work permit, transfer or renewal of residence for 60 yrs of age and above
Aug 17: The Public Authority for Manpower stated that the decision to prohibit issuing work visa for those who are 60 and above for holders of high school diploma and lower will not be able to transfer residence nor renew their residence. They will have to leave Kuwait when the decision will come into effect from 2021.

New residency rules for expat employees aged 60 and above
Aug 17: Director of Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Ahmed Al-Mousa has issued a decision to ban granting work permits to those who have reached the age of 60 years and above, as well as holders of high school diploma or below and its equivalent. The decision will come into effect from the beginning of next year, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
