Egyptian singer Ramy Sabry books Kuwait concert for 24 December

If you’ve been looking for a reason to pencil in a night out before the new year, here’s one: late December in Kuwait usually means school breaks, late-night malls, and a packed calendar of concerts and family events. This year, fans of Arabic pop have another date to add to that list.

Egyptian singer Ramy Sabry is set to perform live in Kuwait on 24 December, according to Voice of Emirates. For anyone who follows the latest local news in Kuwait, this is one of the bigger entertainment bookings announced for the end of the year so far.

So what exactly is planned for the night?

According to the report, Ramy Sabry will treat the audience to a mix of his most popular older tracks and fresh material from Al-Qamar, his newest album. This is a common format for concerts by Egyptian and Gulf artists performing in Kuwait: a set that gives long-time fans the songs they grew up with, plus a preview of newer work for those following the artist’s current era.

No venue has been named yet, and there’s no word yet on ticket prices or how to book. If you’re planning to go, it’s worth keeping an eye on official announcements rather than booking through unofficial resellers, since details like venue and pricing for concerts in Kuwait are usually confirmed closer to the date.

What’s actually on the new album, Al-Qamar?

Al-Qamar, which means “The Moon” in English, is Ramy Sabry’s most recent album, and several of its tracks are expected to feature in the Kuwait show. The album brings together a wide circle of Egyptian songwriters, composers and arrangers, which is part of why it’s been getting attention.

The tracklist includes “Bafrahak Wenta Teza’alni,” with lyrics by Hazem X, composed by Ramy Sabry himself, and arranged by Kolobex. Another track, “Esma’ini,” has lyrics by Ghoneim, music by Madian, and arrangement by Ahmed Amin.

Also on the album is “Ana Mali Beek,” written by Tamer Hussein, composed by Aziz El Shafei, and arranged by Osama El Hendy, plus “Qissat Hob,” with lyrics by Ramadan Mohamed, music by Ali Shaaban, and arrangement again by Osama El Hendy.

“Law Ta’raf” (If You Knew) carries lyrics by Adham Moataz, composed by Tiam Ali, and arranged by Jalal El Hamdaoui. “Ayyami” (My Days) was both written and composed by Mohamed Yehia, with arrangement by Ahmed Amin.

The title track, “El Qamar” (The Moon), has lyrics by Amr El Masry and music by Amr El Khodary, with arrangement credited to Falastini and Amr El Khodary together. The same pair of Amr El Masry and Amr El Khodary also worked on “Ya Bakhti Bih,” where El Khodary handled both the music and arrangement.

Rounding out the album, “Falta” has lyrics by Tamer Hussein, music by Ramy Sabry, and arrangement by Adel Hakky. “Lessa Ba’i Aleik” was written by Mohamed Atef, with Ramy Sabry himself handling both music and arrangement. “Khaliki Hena” features lyrics by Aleem, music by Madian, and arrangement by Adel Hakky.

Two more tracks close out the album. “Summer Season” was written by Filipinos, composed by Ramy Sabry, and arranged by Kolobex. The final track, “We Don’t Forget You,” was written by Tamer Hussein, composed by Ahmed Hussein, and arranged by Osama El Hendy.

What this means for fans living in Kuwait

For Arabic music fans based here, whether citizens or expats, this adds another option to the usual run of December concerts in Kuwait. The timing, two days before Kuwait’s National Day holidays wind down, could make it a popular night out if it goes ahead as planned.

It’s also a reminder for fans of Egyptian pop that artists regularly bring new albums to Gulf audiences soon after release, rather than waiting months. If you already enjoy Ramy Sabry’s older songs, this concert looks like a chance to hear both the familiar material and his newest work side by side.
