Denmark Publishes List of 982 Firms Approved to Hire Foreign Workers

If you’ve ever been messaged on LinkedIn by a recruiter promising a quick visa and a job in Denmark, you’ll know how hard it can be to tell a real offer from a scam. Denmark has just made that a lot easier.

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration, known as SIRI, has published a full list of 982 companies that are officially certified to hire foreign workers through the country’s Fast-track Scheme. If a company isn’t on that list, it simply can’t sponsor you under this route.

For anyone in Kuwait thinking about a move to Europe, or weighing up job offers that land in your inbox, this is the kind of list worth bookmarking before you sign anything.

Here is the list of companies from the article:

    The short version

    • SIRI has certified 982 companies to recruit foreign workers under Denmark’s Fast-track Scheme.
    • The scheme lets certified employers bring in skilled foreign workers more quickly than standard visa routes.
    • Companies had to go through a formal certification process with SIRI before being added to the list.
    • The list is public, so anyone can check whether an employer offering a job in Denmark is actually authorised.

What is the Fast-track Scheme, exactly?

It’s an immigration pathway Denmark set up to speed things along for employers who already have a track record of hiring responsibly. Instead of every work permit application going through the usual channels, certified companies can use a faster process to bring in skilled staff from outside Denmark.

But not every Danish company qualifies. SIRI vets them first, checking things like pay, working conditions and whether the company genuinely needs foreign expertise. Only once that certification is granted can a firm legally use the scheme.

Why does the published list matter?

Because it turns a closed process into something you can actually verify. Before this, a jobseeker had no easy way to confirm whether a Danish employer offering sponsorship was telling the truth about being certified. Now, with the names public on SIRI’s website, you can simply search and check.

That matters for expats here in Kuwait too, since Denmark is one of several European countries where skilled workers from the Gulf’s expat communities sometimes look to relocate. If someone claims they’ll get you a Fast-track work visa for a Danish company, you now have a quick way to confirm it’s real before you pay any fees or hand over documents.

SIRI’s site lists the companies by name and sector, covering a wide range of industries across Denmark. The source report accompanying this list did not include the full breakdown of company names, so we’d recommend checking SIRI’s official register directly for the current, searchable list rather than relying on any copy circulating elsewhere.

What this means if you’re job hunting from Kuwait

If you’re an expat in Kuwait eyeing a move to Denmark, treat this list as a basic due diligence tool, not a job board. It tells you whether a company can legally sponsor you under Fast-track rules. It doesn’t guarantee a job offer or a visa on its own.

It’s a similar principle to what we’ve seen locally with efforts to protect workers here, such as Kuwait’s own push on protecting private-sector salaries and the new Report Me service for labour violations. Governments publishing clear, checkable information is one of the simplest ways to protect workers from being misled.

    Quick answers

Does being on the list guarantee a work visa?

No. Certification only means the company is authorised to use the Fast-track Scheme. You’d still need to be offered a job and go through the visa application yourself.

Where can I check the list?

SIRI, the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration, publishes and updates the list on its official website.

Is this related to Denmark’s job search website?

Yes. Denmark separately runs a government job portal where foreigners can search vacancies by skills and experience, though not every listing comes with visa sponsorship.

If you’re weighing up a job offer abroad, a two-minute check against an official list like this one can save you a lot of trouble later. Have you ever had to verify an overseas job offer before taking it? Let us know in the comments.

  • Making Extra Money in Kuwait: Legal Options for Expats

Making Extra Money in Kuwait: Legal Options for Expats

Rent’s due, school fees are coming up, and your salary feels a bit thinner than it did last year. If you’re an expat in Kuwait, you’ve probably wondered whether there’s a legal way to make a bit extra on the side, without putting your residency at risk.

The good news is that there are options. The important part is knowing which ones are allowed under your visa, and which ones can land you in trouble with the Ministry of Interior or your sponsor.

    The short version

    • Most work visas in Kuwait tie you to one employer (your kafeel), so any paid work outside that job needs care and, in many cases, formal permission.
    • Legal side-income options for expats generally fall into freelancing from home, content creation, tutoring, reselling, and property or investment-linked income.
    • The Kuwaiti dinar is one of the highest-valued currencies in the world, which matters a lot if you’re sending money home or saving in KD.
    • Always check your residency type and, if in doubt, ask your employer or a licensed advisor before starting any side work.

So what can you actually do?

Let’s be honest about the starting point. If you’re on a standard work visa (what people in Kuwait call an 18 or 20 visa), your residency is linked to a specific employer. Taking on a second paid job without permission is technically a violation, even if it feels harmless. This is the single biggest thing to check before you start anything.

With that out of the way, here are the realistic paths expats use:

    1. Freelancing from home. Writing, graphic design, translation, social media management, or virtual assistant work for clients outside Kuwait is lower risk than working for a local business, since you’re not competing for a Kuwaiti labour market role. Payment usually comes through international platforms into your own account.
    2. Blogging and content creation. If you’ve got a phone and something worth saying, whether it’s food, fitness, parenting or Kuwait life itself, platforms like Instagram, YouTube and TikTok let you build an audience and earn through brand partnerships or ad revenue over time. This is slow at first. It’s not a quick fix for this month’s bills.
    3. Tutoring. If you can teach English, maths, a musical instrument, or exam prep, there’s steady demand from other expat families. Keep it informal and word-of-mouth rather than advertising it as a registered business, unless you’ve set that up properly.
    4. Reselling and promoting. Some expats earn by reselling products they source cheaply, from abayas to electronics, through Instagram or WhatsApp groups. Others work as promoters for events or small businesses on a commission basis. Both need a basic understanding of what counts as commercial activity requiring a licence.
    5. Property or investment income. If you own property or hold investments back home, that income isn’t tied to your Kuwait work status at all. It’s one of the cleanest ways to build a second income stream while living here.

Why the Kuwaiti dinar matters here

One thing worth keeping in mind: the Kuwaiti dinar is consistently ranked among the strongest currencies in the world against the US dollar. That means even modest savings in KD can go a long way when converted and sent home, and it’s part of why many expats prioritise saving over spending while they’re here. If you’re building a side income, think about whether you’re better off holding it in KD or converting it regularly, depending on where you plan to use it.

What this means for expats specifically

For most expats on a work visa, the safest side incomes are the ones that don’t look like local employment: freelance work for overseas clients, content creation under your own name, and property or investment income from your home country. The riskier end is anything that looks like a second job inside Kuwait, formal or informal, without your sponsor’s knowledge.

If you’re unsure where your situation sits, our guide on how Kuwait visas work and who qualifies is a useful starting point, and it’s worth understanding how Kuwait’s salary system tracks payments, since undeclared cash income can be harder to explain if questions ever come up.

    Quick answers

Can I legally have two jobs in Kuwait?

Generally no, not without formal permission, since most residencies are tied to one sponsor. Rules vary by visa type, so check your own status before taking on paid work elsewhere.

Is blogging or content creation considered a job?
