If you’ve ever applied for a US student visa, a work visa, or even a fiancΓ© visa, you’ve probably already had to hand over your Instagram handle or Twitter username. That’s been standard since 2019. What changed on 1 October is that three more visa categories just got added to the list.
If you live in Kuwait and you’re not a foreign journalist heading to the US, or a Canadian or Mexican professional applying under USMCA, this particular update probably doesn’t touch you directly.
