     Director of the Air Transport Department at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Abdullah Al-Rajhi announced the issuance of a decision to increase the operating capacity of arrival flights from 1,000 to 5,000 passengers per day starting from May 22, reports Al-Qabas daily.

    7 yrs imprisonment with 2,710,000 dinars fine plus deportation for Bangladeshi

    Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Hani Al- Hamdan upheld the verdict issued to imprison the Bangladeshi MP Muhammad Shahid Islam, former assistant undersecretary in the Ministry of Interior Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah, an official in the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Hassan Al-Khodar, and former MP Salah Khorshid for seven years each, and the dismissal of Sheikh Mazen and Al-Khodar from their positions over “bribery and visa trading” charges.

    Filipino arrested with 10 kg of drugs brought in from Pakistan

    A Filipino was arrested in Farwaniya by the Narcotics department in possession of 10 kg of heroin and meth whose value is estimated to be 180,000 dinars. Filipino admitted that the drugs were from Pakistan and Pakistani authorities were informed to arrest the supplier.

    The Kuwaiti Cabinet had decided during its weekly meeting on Monday to send oxygen supplies and relief items to India which is facing growing numbers of deaths and infections of the coronavirus. The move comes within the framework of the distinguished friendship ties between Kuwait and India that reflect solidarity with the friendly Indian people.

    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mustafa Reda stated those who are vaccinated will be exempted from institutional quarantine and are satisfied with only home quarantine for those arrivals who have been vaccinated by state approved vaccines such as Pfizer Bionic, AstraZeneca Oxford, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson which are currently being used to vaccine citizens and expats in the country.

     Education Minister Ali Al-Mudhaf on Thursday affirmed the resumption of study at schools from September through a well-studied plan for the safety of students in all grades. Regular study at schools has been suspended for more than a year across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

    The Ministry of Health is conducting epidemiological investigations on the number of coronavirus cases recorded daily, taking into consideration that the number of new cases continues to increase although the number of infections due to gatherings and social events has decreased since the beginning of Ramadan compared to the previous months, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
