‘Vote’ today on proposal to impose taxes on expats
Parliament’s Financial and Economic Committee will Sunday, April 1 vote on the proposal submitted by MP Faisal Al- Kandari to impose taxes on the remittances of expatriates.
2% tax for below 100 KD transfer – 4% between 100 and 499 KD – 5% tax above 500

Pakistani biker killed in hot chase by drunk Kuwaiti man
Update, the murderer of the Pakistani motorist tried to commit suicide by attempting to cut his veins, he was rushed to the hospital and additional charges were recorded.
Police have arrested a 46-year-old Kuwaiti for allegedly ‘murdering’ a 30-year-old Pakistani, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the victim, identified as Faisal, riding on a motorbike with his brother, was deliberately chased and run over by the Kuwaiti.

Two Kuwaitis sentenced to death by hanging
The Criminal Court recently sentenced two Kuwaitis to death by hanging for kidnapping and sexually molesting a female compatriot, reports Al- Anba daily. The men were also ordered to pay KD 5,001 each as temporary compensation.

KD 3 license fee for building parking sheds
Head of the Encroachment Demolition Unit at Farwaniya Municipality Khalid Al-Roudhan disclosed that KD 3 is the fee stipulated for issuance of license for building parking sheds outside the confinement of a building, indicating that expatriates are free to secure this permit from the Engineering Permits Department.
