Stargazing Trip

The Geminids are the biggest and most impressive meteor shower of the year, with some 80 meteors or more streaking across the sky per hour at the peak. Don’t miss this amazing event in the Salmi desert, about an hour and 15 minute’s drive from town. Gaze through a professional telescope under the expert guidance of Astronomer Ghanim Al-Otaibi. He’ll also be giving a fascinating lecture on the incredible happenings in the heavens. (Besides meteors, Saturn and Jupiter, and its moons, and the Andromeda Galaxy and The Seven Sisters should be clearly visible.)

Come in your own car, with the location provided, and stay as late as you like. Number of meteors visible should increase after midnight, so our site will be open from 8 pm until 2 a.m. Seating area is outdoors so dress warmly, bring blankets! There will be a caravan with WC.
