Saad Al-Oud’s Gathering

We begin the Open-Air Theatre concerts with Egyptian artist Saad Al-Oud and his band on November 20 and 21, where audiences will enjoy a diverse medley of Egyptian songs made famous by iconic singers and movie stars.

Saad Al-Oud first started performing at intimate gatherings of family and friends, similar to traditional Gulf evening sessions, which he called in Egyptian dialect “Saad Al-Oud’s Gathering.” In these sessions, he played the oud and sang along with the audience.

In 2018, these modest gatherings evolved into large concerts attended by hundreds—and soon thousands—in Cairo and Alexandria. From there, the young artist and his band made their way to the Gulf region, performing in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and most recently, Kuwait.
