Chance to rectify the legal status of domestic workers
Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah announced the approval of rectification of legal status of domestic workers who are in violation of the residency laws, provided they pay fines for absconding from their workplaces. The approval comes with a condition that restricts them from transferring their residency for a period of one year from the date of approval of the rectification of their status.

One year old dead body found in freezer in Kuwait
The remains of a Filipina were found inside a freezer at an apartment in Al-Shaab area. The body, believed to have been kept inside the freezer for over one year, was uncovered shortly after the Filipino government suspended the recruitment of workers to Kuwait amid threats of withdrawing those who are currently working in the country.
5,000 out of 80,000 illegals leave
Acting Director-General of the General Department for Residence Affairs, Major- General Abdullah Al-Hajri said about 5,000 violators have so far taken advantage of the Amnesty and have either left the country or legalized their stay in the country from Jan 29 until Feb 4, 2018.
Terminate the services of 150 expatriate
The Ministry of Interior will terminate the contracts of 150 expatriate employees and replace them with Kuwaitis in line with the directive of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in this regard, reports Al-Rai daily.
