The Ministry of Finance provided over Rs 1.40 billion to Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) for distribution among Kuwait affectees,Customs Today learnt on Tuesday.
On August 2, 1990, Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait and quickly gained control of the country and according to an estimated figure,e about 90,000 Pakistanis including their family members were living in Kuwait at the time of invasion of Kuwait by Iraq in 1990. As a result of Gulf War, more than 60,000 Pakistani expatriates returned to Pakistan from Kuwait/ Iraq either to fly from there or to come back to country through land route via Iraq and Iran and other countries. Pakistanis had to leave their businesses, properties and wealth there and then run to save their lives.
please do inform me-is it that recently the govt of Pakistan has issued this amount coz my father is also waiting for his money.he didnt get it earlier.
