unnamed (2)Deciding to send your child to study overseas can be a daunting prospect not just for the child, but for the parents as well. Without the home ground advantage, access to crucial information such as curriculum, facilities and culture can be difficult both to obtain and to trust – and making the wrong choice could be damaging both for the child’s growth and the parents’ budget.

The Kuwait Global Education Fair 2015 aims to close the gap in knowledge by bringing certified representatives from international educational institutions right into the heart of Kuwait City, giving interested parents and students both the opportunity to speak directly to them and have all their concerns and questions addressed in one go.

Previously held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha by BMI Media, the Kuwaiti edition of the fair will run from 30-31 October in the Safir Marina Hotel. It will see a focus on high schools, boarding schools, undergraduate, postgraduate and language programs abroad,  with a special high school pavilion featuring over 15 institutions from the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Jordan and more.

Participating exhibitors include The University of California from the United States, Lund University from Sweden, Thompson Rivers University from Canada, English UK, among others, all bringing a wealth of course and facility-related information and specialist advisers to give you that edge when making your decision.

Besides facilities and course suitability, one also has to take into account the associated costs, foreign culture, extra-curricular activities, accommodation and other important factors. Experts will be on hand to give you suggestions and help with scholarships and discounts to help lighten your financial burden, as well as assisting you in sorting out your visa and accommodation arrangements.

The event will also have the presence of the representative of the most important country groups such as Campus France, Education USA and British Council, which will provide all the information about the education systems, culture, application processes and much more, in France, United States and United Kingdom.

Relevant participants can even sign up directly for courses on the spot if they find any that suit their needs and interests.  The registration and entry to the event is free of charge, and you can find out more about the fair, do visit the event website at

BMI, organiser of the leading international education fairs around the world, is bringing the Global Education Fair to Kuwait for the first time. The company, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2017, has organized events in Asia, Europe, North and South America and Australia.

The reach of its events is exceptional. Last year, 690 international institutions from 23 countries participated in a BMI event and their events had more than 190,000 visitors. “Both students and educational institutions from around the world recognise our education fairs as the premier events in their respective countries and regions. This allows us to present almost every type of institution and courses available. In addition, we also work with government scholarship organisations and national education agencies such as British Council, Education USA, Campus France, DAAD and English UK,” says Sami Zaveri, President and CEO of BMI.

In total, BMI organises over 60 events in a year in over 15 countries and plans to hold the Kuwait Global Education Fair every October and April. In each country, the events are also supported by the main media and in Kuwait, these are supported by American University of Kuwait, Al Rai, and BAYT.

“Education is vitally important to individuals, families and every government. Our events allow students and parents to see almost every type of education available around the world and speak directly with people from the universities, language and high schools and national education agencies. It also allows them to compare all the options in one place — not only institution by institution but even country by country. Therefore, the events we organise are a great way to find out everything you need to know about studying abroad, or at the excellent institutions in DIAC and the Gulf,” adds Zaveri.

In October this year, the company is hosting the BMI Global Education Fair in Kuwait conducted on two days: October 30 and 31 in the Safir Marina Hotel from 3:00pm-8:00pm. “Don’t miss this opportunity. The event is this week and therefore we suggest registering online as soon as possible to avoid doing this at the entrance. Once registered, visitors will receive updates on what to expect at the event and who will be there, especially encourage parents as well as students to attend because they can talk directly with the directors and professors of the participating institutions,” says the President and CEO.

The event will also feature a full programme of informative seminars every 35 minutes, which are very popular. BMI therefore advises visitors to arrive early so that they can participate in the seminars and get the opportunity to speak to all the institutions present and find the right course.

The registration and entry to the event is free. For more information visit: www.globaleducationfairs.net

Discover the rewards of studying abroad

Studying in another country is a life changing experience that enriches student life and helps young people attain the best degrees, qualifications and improve their employability in the global marketplace. The international travel and study opportunity exposes them to new languages, cultures and interaction with other foreign students, and plays an important part in building their academic and social background making the young people more aware of world around them.

Research has shown, pupils who experience life in another country tend to mature earlier and pick up stronger social skills and have more confidence than people without the exposure. This knowledge and skills are required in later life to find a good job and further a career.

Leaving the nest is always a big decision and for parents it is always very hard to let go but the pros of studying abroad easily outweigh any fears. The academics, the athletics, the extracurricular activities, meeting new friends and learning a new culture are just a few considerations that make the trip abroad an exceptional experience. For some children and teenagers, it is an amazing time to grow up, become independent and be responsible for themselves.

During the international experience, students generally experience smaller class sizes than at college and have access to the traditionally well stocked libraries, media centres, sport facilities and computing labs. Students also have chance to experience a wide range of extra-curricular activities (like theatre, sailing and dance classes), cultural tours and group travelling with other colleagues of similar age, dreams and desires to see the world. They will make friends for life and share experiences never to be forgotten.

Do you want to know more about the international experience of studying, either a high-school, undergraduate or postgraduate program and talk directly to representatives of some globally renowned schools? Visit the Global Education Fair in Kuwait City this month, on 30 and 31 of October 2015.
