Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Hana Al-Hajri has affirmed that the ministry will continue applying the provisions of the Private Nurseries Act, especially in terms of the annual fees which should not exceed KD 1,800, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Hajri said the move to set the tuition fees for nurseries is not new, but has been applied since the enactment of the Private Nurseries Act and its executive regulations. An article in the act allows the ministry to set fees for an academic year in coordination with the concerned authorities, taking into consideration the type of services, activities and programs provided by the nurseries.
The overall fees in all cases should not exceed KD 1,800 per child for the full academic year, along with a monthly premium of not more than KD 200 dinars. In addition, the fees should be reviewed every five years.
