Expat forged 60 visas of domestic workers for KD 20,000

Aug 15: A Pakistani expat working as a company representative (Mandop) was arrested on charges of forging 60 domestic workers visas and selling them to an maids office employee from Indian community in Hawally for a total of KD 20,000.

As per the investigation, officials from maids offices filed a complaint with the residency affairs investigation department about a Pakistani expat selling forged domestic workers visas reports Al Qabas. The agreement was to obtain 60 visas for KD 20,000. At specified time the accused came to the maid’s office and handed over 60 forged visas to an Indian employee and collected KD 20,000. This incident took place in late Feb, before the council of ministers took a decision to shut Kuwait airport due to the Corona crisis.

When ministries returned back to work the maids’ office officials submitted the visas to reissue them with new dates as the visas had already expired, on verifying it was found that these visas were forged.

The information of Pakistani expat was shared and the officers arrested the accused. Authorities raided his residence and found various tools and machines were found in his possession. He is a specialist in forgery and had modern equipment which he had brought from abroad for the purpose of forging visas. He confessed to committing the crimes, and was referred to the Public Prosecution Office after documenting his confessions.
