In the first incident of its kind, police have arrested a Kuwaiti woman for stealing a car after the motorist stepped out to buy medicine from a pharmacy leaving the car engine on, reports Al-Anba daily.
A security source said after the theft the Kuwaiti woman called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry and said she left the car engine running and although she returned to the car in less than a minute, the car was gone.
The incident happened in Doha. The female car thief was arrested after police checked the CCTV footage of the nearby camera. The source added a citation has also been issued against the owner of the car for leaving the car in operation.
