The Ministry of Interior launched, on Monday, two new services aimed at facilitating companies and business owners in renewing the residency of their employees, in order to complement the measures it is taking to confront the repercussions of the emerging Corona virus (Covid 19) and prevent its spread.

According to a statement issued by the General Department for Security Relations and Media, the Assistant Undersecretary for Residence Affairs in the Ministry of Interior said that the first service is concerned with submitting applications for the first time registration for companies and institutions to obtain a user name for the residence renewal service for the campaign of Article No. 18 of the Residence Law for workers in the private sector through Ministry website www.moi.gov.kw instead of reviewing the General Administration of Residency Affairs, starting today.

Major General Marafie added that the second service enables business owners to renew the residency of their workers – the private sector for Article (18) and domestic workers and those similar for Article (20); for those who are outside the country provided that there is no security restriction preventing the renewal of residency in accordance with the applicable rules and conditions .

He called on citizens, expats and owners of companies and institutions to take advantage of these free services and complete their transactions online in order to save time and effort and to prevent and limit the spread of the Corona virus emerging.

The statement stated that the two services come within the framework of cooperation and coordination between the accommodation affairs and information and communication technology sectors in the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Public Authority for Manpower and the Public Authority for Civil Information.
