Indian firm spend $525m to Kuwait University

constledIndian conglomerate Shapoorji Pallonji has announced that it has won the contract to build, operate and maintain the colleges of social science, law and Sharia and Islamic studies, for Kuwait University.

Valued at just under KD150 million ($525 million) and with a contract period of 42 months, the deal also includes work on the prayer areas and faculty club at the university, the company said in a statement.

Mohan Dass Saini, managing director and CEO, said: “At Shapoorji Pallonji, we consider education to be one of the most important foundations of any society, so it is with great honour that we are able to contribute towards Kuwait’s national higher education through the construction of this university.”

Shapoorji Pallonji said it is already present in the Kuwaiti market, having won the design-build contract with supply, installation and maintenance of medical procurement for the $635 million Al Sabah Hospital.
