Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa has endorsed the proposal to increase fees in private schools by three percent per year, starting from 2016/2017 academic year, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a decision issued recently, Al-Essa explained the fees in private schools will be increased by six percent within two academic years – three percent in 2016/2017 and another three percent in 2017/2018.
After these two school years, the ministry will decide whether to suspend, cancel or increase the percentage, he added.

Dear Sirs,
My child is attending KES. At his year the costs additional to fee have increased substantially. There are weekly offers of book sales, authors visits. Than it is mandatory to buy a specific tablet – Chromebook for 130 KD. The option of downloading programs to your own is not given. I am wondering if anybody from MOE is monitoring this, or we just have to keep low profile?
In my school the fees has already been increases 3 to 4 time like previous years and now they are telling to increase more. in my school for a class 10 student fess is in first term 170 kd. And if additionally if we are in CBSE – (i) thent ther fees is extra 60 kd.if they increase thisyear again it will be too much for us and above all they are taking 10 kd more for extra classes which we didnt demand.
3% is too much for the parents whose 3 to 4 children are school going. pl reconsider
