Farwaniya Criminal Investigation Department unraveled the whole story behind the consignment of electrical appliances worth KD 50,000, which a Syrian expatriate is accused of stealing, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily explained a Pakistani expatriate was named in connection with the crime but detectives later discovered he left the country for good, while the Syrian has already sold about 30 percent of the items on 60 percent discount.
Apparently, the Bedoun owner of the container notified security authorities at the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station about his stolen cargo truck full of electrical appliances, and Farwaniya Criminal Investigation Department later received a call about the Syrian expatriate auctioning electrical appliances at Rai area.
Upon his arrest, the suspect confessed renting a store in Sulaibiya Industrial Area to keep the stolen electrical appliances. Investigation indicated the Pakistani was the mastermind of the entire scenario, indicating he had stolen the cargo truck and assigned the Syrian expatriate to sell the content. The Syrian has since been referred to concerned authorities.
