879 people arrested in Hawally , Kuwait

Hawally securitymen arrested 879 individuals during an extensive security campaign in Nugra area on Wednesday evening.

According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the campaign was headed by Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad who was accompanied with Assistant Undersecretary for Operation Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh and a number of security leaders.

Securitymen were distributed based on a security plan to cover the entire area. The entry and exit roads of Nugra area were closed and officers patrolled the area to check the documents of the residents and road users.

They arrested 879 individuals, out of who 189 violated the residency law, 46 had expired residencies, 418 did not have their civil IDs, 8 are involved in criminal cases, 48 are reported as absconding by their sponsors, 32 are involved in civil cases, 89 are marginal workers and 40 are wanted by the Residency Security Department.

The arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Some expatriates were referred for deportation. The officers also recovered nine vehicles that were reported as stolen. The Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior affirmed that such campaigns will continue to be held to arrest wanted individuals and violators of law
