F1 Champ Daniel Ricciardo Meets Kuwaiti Zaid Ashkanani

20 year old Kuwaiti racing Driver Zaid Ashkanani joins the Red Bull athlete family. To celebrate this achievement Zaid was welcomed by the team at the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Garage during the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.

During his visit, Zaid was given a garage tour where he met many of the team members who gave him an overview of the RB10 & showed him what happens behind the scenes during the F1 races.

Daniel Ricciardo, the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Driver, met Zaid and shared some of his experiences as a professional F1 driver and gave him some tips and career advice.

“I’m very delighted to join the Red Bull athlete family. I’m also very happy with this unique experience and meeting with one of Formula 1’s superstars Daniel Ricciardo. I was able to get a first-hand look at the operation of such a professional team, and a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes in the garage.” said Zaid Ashkanani.

Zaid Ashkanani started his racing career in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East when he participated in 2012/2013 in the Silver category. He managed to clinch the 6^th place overall and Rookie of the year title. In 2013/2014 Zaid managed to take four wins and three pole positions and ended the season being the youngest championship winner. This year he started defending his title by earning second and 3^rd places in the first round in Bahrain. He currently sits second in the championship with 44 points, only 6 points behind the leader.

RED BULL’s UPCOMING EVENTS IN KUWAIT

When : 5 Dec , Friday 2014A Unique Quad Bike and Jet Ski Relay Race

The temperature on December 5^th is expected to soar in Kuwait as Quad bikers and Jet Skiers will race head-to-head in the first ever Red Bull Bar Bahr event which will take place at the Khairan Pearl. It is a unique motorsport relay race comprising of teams of two (one Jet Ski rider & one Quad Biker). The teams will race against each other on their high powered machines on specially constructed tracks on land and in the sea. The contestants will be required to negotiate a challenging track of man-made obstacles such as ramps, mud, bumps and curves. The first quad racer crossing the finish line will hand his teammate the key of the jet-ski in order to start racing on the water. Quad bikers wishing to take part in this event must have a driving license and own their quad bike while participants of the Jet Ski must possess a driving license from the Marine Sports Club of Kuwait. 

The event is organized by Basel Salem Al Sabah Motor Racing Club and is sponsored by Ford Middle East, Kawasaki Kuwait, Road Emergency, Sabah Al Ahmad Sea City and Public Authority for Youth & Sport.
